Informed Consent: Written consent must be obtained before any session, particularly for under-18s or vulnerable individuals. This includes consent for:

  • Participating in the session.
  • Use of images (if applicable).
  • Any additional support or accommodations needed.


Parental/Guardian Involvement: A responsible adult (parent, guardian, or carer) must be present or at a nearby location for all sessions involving minors or vulnerable individuals.

Safe & Respectful Interaction:

  • No physical contact unless it is necessary for support and explicitly consented to (e.g., guiding for positioning).
  • Sessions are led with patience and understanding, allowing individuals to engage at their own pace.

Appropriate Locations:

  • Sessions are conducted in public or pre-approved private locations with appropriate risk assessments.
  • Indoor sessions follow strict safeguarding measures, ensuring transparency and safety.


DBS/PVG Checks & Training:

  • Any professional working with vulnerable groups should hold PVG certification which can be shared on request.
  • Courses completed in autism awareness, mental health first aid, are in place and can be shared on request.
  • Courses currently in process: COSCA Certificate in counselling skills (Completion date: xxxxxx)

  • Images and personal data are securely stored and never shared without explicit consent.

Recognising and Responding to Safeguarding Issues:
